Blanco legítimo, a historic grape variety, holds Protected Geographical Indication status.

Betanzos white wine, known as blanco legítimo, is one of Galicia’s four Protected Geographical Indications. Its cultivation area includes Betanzos and nearby municipalities. After declining in the 19th century, historic grape varieties such as branco lexítimo and agudelo were recovered through scientific research.

Ancient medieval guild dances of Betanzos, such as the sailors’ arch dance and the farmers’ dance, preserving traditional attire.
