The aim of this route is to showcase the entire historic-artistic heritage of the city of Betanzos. The historic centre was declared a protected historic ensemble in 1970 and is home to two national monuments: the churches of Santa María do Azogue and San Francisco. Along the route through the city’s medieval precinct—the only one in Galicia that preserves three medieval gates—we will learn about episodes of local history, curious facts, and visit the city’s main monuments.
